Involute Tooling Inc. is in the business of manufacturing and exporting of motion-control products for industrial use. Their products find use in conveyor belts, power generation, etc.
They have a vast engineering data that defines the parts: gear nomenclature, tooth formulas, torque and horsepower requirements. Maintaining inventory information and tracking all those parts was intense. As a result, the company faced a remarkable challenge: How could it keep track of specifications, and engineering change orders. While Involute tried hard to track stock via a spreadsheet, it wasn’t always carefully maintained. This made the confirmation of receipt sketchy. Compounding the task were the constant design changes, or change orders. And every time a change was approved, Involute had to ensure that different engineering databases were updated with the information.


Technosoft was given the job to develop a computerized system for tracking inventory and production processes. The whole process required an exhaustive system study. The development took 350 man days to develop and implement. And Involute is already talking of ‘reducing cycle time, increased efficiency and substantial savings’.

The software was initially developed for Intel for generating draw of lots daily. Main challenges and features

a) The data was enormous to the tune 30-50 K daily.

b) The data used to come from different modes like telecallers, online and     mobile messages.

c) The data had to be imported from excel (csv format), text and from     different database within the same day.

d) The algorithm used was truly randomized and was checked by quality     agencies like.

e) Different products carried different weightage and the probability of      draw for the high end products users had to be kept higher.

f) The whole operation had to be precise with daily winners being listed     daily on the website.

g) The data analysis was also provided during the draw and afterwards to     the concerned authority which sprang many surprises.

The same software with some changes was also provided to Philips afterwards.

The software is being used many carpet and other home furnishing exporting companies with their customers spread all over the world With the focus on niche retail segment and unique hand crafted designs, they required complete computerized operations to maximize productivity & customer response.


The software was developed in 2002 for their different departments: Accounts, Purchase, Stock, Invoice, Exports, etc. The unique features of the system are: handling complex inventory item groups, tracking product transaction details & pending payables against purchases. The software has exhaustive packing list and invoice details.

Sale tax reports designed specially to cater to the needs of the tax department are extremely useful. Considering the inventory is highly valuable, special report to keep track of stock with their ageing analysis, sample tracking, automated coding system etc. has been very useful.

The software has become the de-facto standard of companies using it and their working culture giving numerous benefits to the operational management.

Technosoft developed a complete customized package which besides invoice generated a number of specific customer reports which were unique to the Ess Aar’s needs. The project was developed using Visual Basic and Crystal Reports to provide timely and accurate reports for management.


MRML: Catalog Management Software
Munshiram Manoharlal is one of the leading publishers of books on Indology since 1952 having 1500 publications under its name. They wanted to replace the age-old system of providing printed catalogues with the electronic media both for efficiency and economy. Technosoft came with a perfect solution to deliver what they wanted.

A programmable catalogue was developed. It had numerous advantages. It facilitated MRML to add any number of book titles possibly 10,000 and pack it on single CD. Another advantage was the flexibility to add. In print catalogue, whenever they had to add more book titles, they had to get tons of catalogues printed obviously a huge cost. Here, it was simple. Our solution gave them the facility to add products anytime and burn it whenever they wanted on a CD-ROM. Besides, the client version had search engine in-built where a prospective client could search any book by author/ book name/ ISBN No. And lastly, to spice up the presentation we added sound and animation effects.

The solution was perfect and liked by MRML clients in book exhibition, seminars, etc.
